Challenge Timeline:

We developed five goals for LA in the year 2050. More than 30,000 of you helped us finalize those goals via #LA2050Listens – and now we want you to tell us how we can turn these goals into action. We spelled out target metrics and steps we are taking toward the goals in our recent report, Vision for a Successful Los Angeles.

On September 8th, submit your proposal for the idea, project, or program that will help Los Angeles become the best place in the world to learn, create, play, connect – and the healthiest place to live.

How does it work?

There are two ways to win

After a moderation process to ensure compliance with the rules, your proposal will compete for one of ten $100,000 grants.

TOP VOTED: 5 Winners

One of the top 10 voted proposals in each of the five LA2050 goal categories will be selected by the jury to receive $100,000 to implement their idea.

JURY VOTED: 5 Winners

The jury will pick one proposal in each of the five LA2050 goal categories to receive $100,000 to implement their idea

A shared vision for the future of LA is an important first step to making progress. Now, we want to hear your ideas on how we can make that vision a reality.

What are the LA2050 Goals?

We believe that in order to track and drive progress, Angelenos must be united by a shared vision of success for the region. The LA2050 Goals represent this shared vision, and will help influence LA2050's activities in 2015 and beyond. You can learn more about them here.

How did you come up with LA2050 Goals and Targets?

In 2013, we asked Angelenos to share their vision for the future of Los Angeles and with your help, developed a series of draft goals for LA in the year 2050. We wanted to hear community feedback on these draft goals, so we launched #LA2050Listens – a series of events led by local organizations to solicit feedback on the draft LA2050 goals from a broad group of Angelenos. And, we listened. The LA2050 Goals are drawn from citizen visions, our LA2050 report, and input from advisors and partners..

I have feedback on the LA2050 goals. How can I share that with you?

We would love your feedback! Please, fill out our feedback form here.

Can I apply more than once?

Technically there can be multiple entries from the same organization, so long as the project ideas are unique. However, we would recommend consolidating your resources, collaborators, and supporters and getting in one awesome submission!
