SUMMARY: The Site Coordinator reports directly to the Middle School Director and will work collaboratively with the director to implement a high quality after school program. Specifically, the coordinator must be a champion for active and engaged learning and for the unique needs of English language learners. To this end, the coordinator is responsible for managing and observing enrichment workshops to ensure that youth experience high quality instruction and activities as well as the implementation of Bresee’s English for Success program.

Program Supervision and Implementation
Provide direct supervision of contracted workshop instructors, conducting quarterly reviews to discuss challenges, progress, and identify future needs.
Lead English Language programming, including supervision of English Coaches, running Saturday English camp with the EL team, and promoting reading and literacy throughout other aspects of after school programming.
Lead parent engagement for ELL program, including orientation for parents of eligible ELL students, parent education workshops on ELL reclassification process, and culmination events for English for Success program.
Direct the supervision of students during passing periods.
Program Tracking and Data Management
Responsible for collecting, entering and reviewing ELD data for ELL students enrolled in programming to track progress towards reclassification.
Responsible for producing attendance rosters for workshops and updating them on a weekly basis, entering data into CiviCore database, and verifying data accuracy regularly.
Implementing evaluation surveys and/or focus groups for workshop participants.
Collaborate with Middle School Director to identify trends in program data and develop strategies to increase retention, maintain full enrollment and improve program quality
Program Planning and Collaboration
Work with Middle School director to identify and address behavioral issues when they arise. Provide coaching, assistance and feedback to workshop instructors to effectively manage behavior of students during program hours.
Work with Middle School Program Director to plan program events, including Friday free days, Student Showcases, and other events as needed.
Collaborate with Virgil Middle School staff to identify and address the needs of English Language Learners and align programming with the school day as appropriate.
Serve as backup for absentee staff, including workshop instructors, as needed.
Represent BAM to the school community, including students, parents, staff, faculty, and community partners.
Coordinate English for Success orientation and culmination events in partnership with ELL coaches and Middle School Director.
WHO SHOULD APPLY: College graduates with a passion for youth development and/or education with prior experience working in an after school or educational setting. Must be bilingual and culturally competent in the issues facing low-income middle school students, and be a strong role model for front line after school staff and youth. Candidates must be passionate about the academic and social emotional development of young people and have enthusiasm for activities that promote learning.

WORKING LOCATION: Location is based on a percentage of where work time is spent. In office 95%, out of office 5%. Indoors 95%, outdoors 5%.
