CALLING ALL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS!

We are looking for ART, KARATE, and DANCE Workshop Instructors for the 2018-19 program year. Workshop Instructors will work with middle school students in Bresee’s afterschool program with a vision to positively impact youth in our neighborhood through character development in curriculum-based enrichment workshops.

Art Workshop Instructor:

When: August 2018-June 2019, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (3:15pm-6:15pm) with prep time and approximately 8.5 instruction hours per week

Qualifications: must have a background in fine arts, must have experience teaching art to youth

Expectations: create and implement curriculum for up to two varieties of techniques (for example: drawing, painting, watercolor) each semester

Rate of Pay: $12,000 for contracted services for full program year ($25/hr)

Karate Workshop Instructor:

When: August 2018-June 2019, Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:15pm-6:15pm, with prep time and approximately 4.5 hours instruction hours per week

Qualifications: must have a background in martial arts, must have experience teaching to youth

Expectations: create and implement curriculum, tailored to the skill level of enrolled students, including new techniques, use of pads or heavy bags, sparring, meditation, stretching, conditioning, and discussing the history philosophy of the art

Rate of Pay: $6,000 for contracted services for full program year ($25/hr)

Dance Workshop Instructor:

When: August 2018-June 2019, Tuesdays and Thursdays (3:15-6:15pm), with prep time and approximately 4.5 hours of instruction per week

Qualifications: must have background in international dances, must have experience teaching to youth

Expectations: create and implement curriculum

Rate of Pay: $6,000 for contracted services for full program year ($25/hr)

All workshop instructors are considered independent contractors and are required to undergo a criminal background check, in addition to providing proof of a negative TB test within the last six months. Class sessions will not be held during school holidays or dates not included in the LAUSD school calendar.
