Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO is responsible for the overall successful operation and performance of the $35 million agency. Supported by over 230 FTEs and nearly 850 volunteers, the President & CEO must harness these resources to effectively implement JFS’s strategic goals and objectives while developing and maintaining relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, partner organizations, government and other funding sources. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible executive experience, preferably for a large, complex nonprofit organization. He/She will have a proven record of success in leadership positions with experience managing groups of different constituencies and programs, including oversight of day to day operations as well as long-term goals. Successful experience with major gift fundraising is essential. Knowledge of government funding streams is strongly preferred. Candidates should have an awareness of Jewish community traditions and be committed to working in and fostering a multicultural environment. Although it is preferable that candidates come with a background working in human services, it is possible that the successful candidate may come from another field within or outside of the nonprofit sector. A Bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree or equivalent experience are required.
