Position Overview

Liberty Hill is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Program Assistant to provide administrative support for Liberty Hill Programs, including grantmaking functions. Reporting into the Director of Grantmaking, she/he will handle grants administration, coordinate workshop logistics and prepare materials as well as conduct research and prepare reports, correspondence and other related documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
  • One to three years’ experience in administrative support. Experience in a nonprofit setting is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows operating system and MS Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Publisher. Ability to operate Internet applications and email as well as proprietary and external vendor programs including database software.
  • Knowledge of database systems, particularly Raiser’s Edge and GrantedGE, helpful.
  • Knowledge of basic research practices including Internet research, surveys, interviews, archives, etc.
  • Experience in business correspondence creation using proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of general business principles and non-profit organization management.
  • A philosophy compatible with Liberty Hill’s social justice mission and the ability to work with diverse donor and grantee constituencies preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cross-class and inter-group issues.
  • California driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.
