Job Title: Security, Safety & Hospitality Associate
Reports to: Security, Safety & Hospitality Supervisor
FLSA Status/Hours: Up to 15 hours per week
Pay Rate: 12.00-15.00 DOE
A Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth and community center in South Central Los Angeles. APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities. As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active community members capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.
The Part-Time Security, Safety & Hospitality Associate’s responsibility is to provide warm greetings and directions for members and visitors, and receiving functions (for deliveries). As the first contact for most members, staff and guests, the Security, Safety & Hospitality Associate functions as a key ambassador for APCH and is expected to provide welcome and exemplary customer service in accordance with our values and practices. S/he will also assist in controlling the entrances to our buildings and street crossings during business hours, evening and/or weekend events.
To perform this important job successfully, the Security, Safety & Hospitality Associate must be able to fulfill all of the elements of the Job Description to the highest standard, and be able to work well with colleagues in a high energy, collaborative environment with open communications. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and have the required technical skills.
