We seek a dynamic communications professional to serve as Communications Manager for a passionate group of professors, staff, and students dedicated to cutting-edge research and education on travel and transportation. 

The Communications Manager will develop and manage the implementation of the Institute’s communications strategy.  This involves building and strengthening the Center’s brand, connecting our research and educational programs with our stakeholders, and managing our communications portfolio.  The Communications Manager will launch and manage an online transportation publication that connects academic content with decision-makers.

The Communications Manager will seek to better understand our stakeholders using industry best practices, working closely with the Operations and Events Manager and the Data and Systems Manager to analyze and learn from our web-based communications.   

The Communications Manager will work with researchers and the Operations & Events Manager as part of the Events Team, creating visual, marketing, and communications elements to promote events and provide attendees with a high-quality experience

The Communications Manager will do all of this in a dynamic environment, serving as the first point of contact and coordinator for press-related inquiries on topics ranging from safer bike lanes to hyperloops.  But they won’t do it alone: the Communications Manager will recruit and manage a team of graduate and undergraduate students to support their work.
