Description

The Los Angeles Better Buildings Challenge (LABBC) is an initiative to accelerate investment in projects that save energy and water in existing buildings, with a goal to reduce consumption 20% by 2020. Funded by local utilities, the LABBC works at the nexus of the public and private sectors providing, a range of consulting services to support property owners and managers in achieving the 20% goal. The LABBC also operates the LA Energy & Water Efficiency Resource Center (Resource Center), supporting implementation of the City’s Existing Buildings Energy & Water Efficiency Ordinance.

The Los Angeles Better Buildings Challenge (LABBC) is currently seeking a Project Developer to originate and manage energy and water conservation projects, support the expansion of the program, and provide technical support to the Resource Center.

Reports to: Program Operations Manager

Time commitment: 15 - 40 hours / week, flexible schedule

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, 1099 Independent Contractor position

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment & Partner Engagement - Outbound phone calls, networking, presentations and written communications to recruit property owners and managers in to the program
  • Project Management - Coordination between property owners, managers, utilities, LABBC Technical Advisors and outside consultants to develop and execute efficiency upgrades
  • Operations – Support program workflow through coordination with the Executive Director, Operations & Marketing Manager, Technical Advisors, Analyst, and other team members
     

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Energy Star Portfolio Manager
  • Familiarity with utility rebate programs
  • Experience with SalesForce
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or Construction
  • Commercial real estate and/or project development experience
  • Self-starter, able to work independently in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
