HOURS: 40 hours a week

REPORTS TO: EMI Academy Program Director

POSITION SUMMARY

ICON CDC seeks an organized and dynamic Economic Mobility Initiative (EMI) Navigation Entrepreneur Coach to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing business coaching to entrepreneur participants and graduates and responding to entrepreneurs needs for navigation assistance. The ideal candidate is a multitasker with strong communication skills in both English and in another language, preferably Spanish is reliable, and can work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect and centralize additional intake information, if necessary, on each business’s needs to be readily accessible across EMI spokes and programs, as needed.

Hold 1:1 conversations with businesses to build trust and understand their unique needs and challenges.

Refer businesses to relevant EMI services and assist them in the application process, if necessary.

Provide ad hoc support to answer any follow-up questions that businesses may have on accessing other EMI services.

Conduct a follow-up survey to businesses to ensure they have obtained the services to which they were referred within 30-60 days of the referral and/or 1:1 conversation.

Assist participants and graduates of the entrepreneurship academy seek further EMI support.

Assist participants and graduates to launch, sustain, and scale their businesses.

Serve, at a minimum, 50 businesses at any given time.

Provide further navigation services to entrepreneurship academy graduates who seek to launch or scale their businesses and connect with needed services.

Connect them with other relevant EMI services, including general ad hoc business support and access to capital

Assist with the delivery of workshops and training sessions for program participants, including coordinating logistics and materials.

Collaborate with EMI Academy team to ensure efficient and effective program implementation, including participating in team meetings and providing input on program improvements.

Provide managing support for the program and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.

3-4 years of experience in a manager/supervisor role,

preferably in a non-profit or government setting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is required

Experience with data management software and hardware preferred.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take initiative on individual tasks.

Bilingual in English and Spanish (Fluent in Speaking, Reading and Writing)

KNOWLEDGE and/or SKILLS

Experience in manager level program procedures, including managing various goals at once.

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing business services.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience in program planning and execution.

Computer proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing in a Google Suite environment

Develop and maintain work deadlines while performing work with a high degree of accuracy.

This position requires strong attention to detail and being highly organized.

Excellent customer service skills in both verbal and written form.

Exercise reliability, responsibility, dependability and fulfill work obligations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The EMI Navigation Entrepreneur Coach will work primarily in an office setting with weekly evening and occasional weekend work required to support workshops or events. The coach may need to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
