About this job

We seek a dedicated and passionate team member to manage relationships, proposals, and reporting with current and prospective foundation and corporate partners. Additionally, they will conduct prospect research, write and develop donor communications, and support other Development processes, including fundraising appeals and acknowledgement letters.

Roles & responsibilities

- Manage relationships with current foundation partners, including coordinating meetings, writing grant proposals, and writing stewardship reports.

- Develop and drive strategies and tactics to strengthen relationships with current funders and build relationships with foundation prospects.

- Assist in preparing grant budgets and timelines, and tracking grant spending.

- Conduct research to identify new foundation prospects with a goal to add at least 5-10 new foundation prospects per year.

- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners.

- Research and prospect new corporate partners with a goal to add at least 2-5 new corporate partners a year.

- Support twice annual direct mail and accompanying email fundraising appeals; Annual impact report; Annual Summer Report; and twice annual newsletters.

- Refresh, edit, and support gift acknowledgement.

- Assist in planning and execution of development events.

- Develop an understanding of program work to be able to articulate organizational value to funders.

- Participate in setting of Development Team goals, objectives, and processes.

Qualifications

- Understanding of Development strategies, systems, and processes.

- Experience managing relationship with funders or other external constituents.

- Superior written and oral communication skills.

- Collaborative mindest and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and independently.

- Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP).

- Experience fundraising for non-profits, particularly those with an environmental, education, or social justice focus.

- Understanding of environmental, justice, and climate issues.
